10th ranked Vikings will host Brissman/Lundeen Invitational in men's cross country

Some of the best small college cross country teams in the Midwest will converge on Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois on Saturday, September 27 for the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational. The men’s race of 8,000 meters will start at 4:00 p.m. while the women’s 6,000 meter race will begin of 4:45 p.m.

A total of 37 teams will toe the starting line in both races. Included in the field are the following schools: Ashford, Aurora, Carl Sandburg, Carthage, Cornell, Culver-Stockton, Des Moines Area College, Ellsworth, Elmhurst, Eureka, Greenville, Grinnell, Harper, Illinois Central College, Illinois State, Indian Hills, Iowa Central, Lincoln College, Loras, Maryville, Monmouth, Mt. Mercy, North Iowa Area College, Olivet Nazarene, Principia, Rockford, Simpson, Southwestern Community, Spalding, St. Xavier, Truman State, Wisconsin-Parkside, Washington, Webster, Westminster and William Penn.

Augustana is the defending champion in the men’s race and the Vikings are currently ranked 10th in NCAA Division III and fifth in the Midwest Region. The women’s winner a year ago was Wisconsin-Parkside and the Augustana women were fourth.
