The Jaeke Family Life Program at Augustana College is a program endowed by Harold Jaeke in memory of his wife Violet M. Jaeke. The program has three essential components:

  • The family life course FS210. This course is offered annually with no prerequisites to any interested Augustana students. The course is designed to acquaint students with the changes in family structure and function during the 20th century. It offers students the opportunity to explore their own family background as well as those of the other students in the class.
  • Community Outreach: The program is involved with a variety of Quad-City programs and institutions both as service and in sponsorship or co-sponsorship of a variety of activities and programs for families. For a list of some of these efforts see Family Life Community Outreach.
  • Research in family issues: Currently a study involving pre-marital couples is beginning. For additional information please see Family Life Research, or contact Dr. Larry McCallum by phone at 309-794-7373 or by e-mail.
