21. Olaus Bengtsson ^(79)(80) was born on 26 Mar 1821 in Kvarnome, Veddige, Halland, Sweden. He was baptized on 26 Mar 1821 in Kvarnome, Veddige, Halland, Sweden. Men sponsors were Andreas Larsson and Berndt Carlsson from Kvarnome and women sponsors were Christina Nilsdoter and Anna Brita Nilsdotter from Kvarnome. He emigrated in 1867 from America.⁽⁸¹⁾ Olaus evidently went to America without official permission in 1867. Olaus is a Latinized form of Olaf. Olaus left Veddige but returned in 1847 from Frilleså. He is listed as being 'icke ä,' or 'not honest.' A largely illegible note in the household accounts say something about 'authorities' and a ship, and a certificate.
Olaus was listed at owner of a small cottage and a small piece of land when his daughter Inger Christina was born.

He was married to Christina Svensdotter on 24 Dec 1848 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden.⁽⁸²⁾ The banns of the wedding show Olaus as honnenssonnen of No. 1 Drared and maiden Christina of the same place, age of groom 27, age of bride 26. Both were present, and evidently (although its hard to read the original record) Christina dropped off a letter of her half-brother Berndt Andersson saying she could marry. There is also a remark about a sister and widow Inger. The banns were read in Veddige church October 29, November 3 and 12, 1848. No one disagreed. a fee of 12 something was probably paid. Residence No. 1, Drared, at time of marriage. Olaus is listed Hommasonen and Christian as Pigan. Christina Svensdotter ^(83)(84) was born on 1 Jan 1822 in Sweden. She emigrated on 17 Nov 1871 from America. ⁽⁸⁵⁾ Christina emigrated with her daughter Maria and son Carl. Christina came into Veddige from Väö in 1845. She lived in Bjö from then through 1847, and went to Drared in 1848. Quite frankly, her birthdate in the inflyttade records looks messy. Olaus Bengtsson and Christina Svensdotter had the following children:

48 i. Brita Helena Olsdotter was born on 30 Dec 1848 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden.⁽⁸⁶⁾ Father living at No. 1 Drared at time of birth. Mother in birth record is father's wife Christine Pehrsdotter. Age of mother is 27. Witnesses are J. B. Berndtsson and wife Br. Andersdotter of No. 2(?) Drared and J. B. Johansson and wife M. Jahansdotter of No. 3(?) Drared. Mother introduced 7 Feb 1849. She was baptized on 31 Dec 1848. She emigrated on 19 Nov 1872 from America.⁽⁸⁷⁾ Brita was the last of her family to leave for America.
49 ii. Samuel Olsson⁽⁸⁸⁾ was born on 21 Oct 1851 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden.⁽²⁷⁾ Father from No. 1 Drared. Mother is Olaus' wife Christina Svensdotter. Age of mother is 29. Witnesses are Lars Bengtson and his wife Anna Brita Andersdotter from No. 1 Drared and And. Johansson , Jon B. Bö, Brita Andersdotter, M. L. Bö. Mother introduced 22 Nov 1851. He was baptized on 23 Oct 1851. He emigrated on 19 Nov 1869 from America. ⁽⁸⁹⁾ Sameul went to America without official permission in 1869.
50 iii. Inger Christina Olsdotter was born on 25 Dec 1853 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden. She was baptized on 26 Dec 1853. ⁽²⁷⁾ Witnesses were Lars Bengtson and his wife Ann. Br. Andersdotter from No. 1 Drared, H.Olena Andersdotter, and Johannes Joh Berndtsson (?) from Fagevå (?). Age of mother was 31. She died on 16 Jun 1856 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden.⁽⁹⁰⁾ Age at death is given as 2 years, 5 months, 21 days. She was buried on 22 Jun 1856 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden.
51 iv. Johannes Olsson was born on 9 Oct 1855 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden. ⁽⁹¹⁾ The parents were of No. 1 Drared. The mother's age was 33. Witnesses were Lars Bengtsson and wife Anna Br. Andersdotter of Drared, Andreas Andersson, Brita Carlsdotter of Drared. He was baptized on 14 Oct 1855 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden. He emigrated on 14 Nov 1870 from America. ⁽⁹²⁾
52 v. Carl Olsson was born on 26 Oct 1857 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden. ⁽⁹³⁾ Father is Bsitt (sp?) and wife of No. 1 Drared. Age of mother was 35. She was reintroduced November 27. witnesses were Joh. B. Johansson and Inger Br. Andreasdotter of Telnebacka, Lars Bengtsson and wife Anna Br. Andersdotter of No. 1 Drared. He was baptized on 1 Nov 1857 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden. He died on 7 Nov 1859 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden.⁽¹³⁾ Age at death is given as 2 years, 11 months, but it seems likely that the correct age was 2 years, 12 days. He was buried on 13 Nov 1859 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden.
53 vi. Aron Olsson was born on 9 Apr 1859 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden. ⁽⁸⁶⁾ Father and mother were of No. 1 Drared. The mother's age was 37. She was reintroduced on May 21. The witnesses were Anders Andersson and wife Ann Brita Larsdotter, Lars Bengtsson and wife Anna Br. Andersdotter of No. 1 Drared. He was baptized on 16 Apr 1859 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden. He emigrated on 14 Nov 1870 from America.⁽⁹⁴⁾
54 vii. Martha Lena Olsdoter was born on 10 May 1861 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden.⁽⁹⁵⁾ Father is listed as Bsitt and his wife Christina, age 39, of No. 1 Drared at time of birth. Witnesses were Pehr Joh. Pehrsson and wife Christina Berdtsdotter of Ugassä (sp?), Lars Bengtson and wife Anna Br. Andersdotter of No. 1 Drared. She was baptized on 12 May 1861 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden. She died on 24 May 1861 in Drared, Veddige, Halland, Sweden.⁽⁹⁶⁾ She was buried on 26 May 1861 in Veddige, Halland, Sweden.
