1. Thomas Earl Bengtson was born on 13 Mar 1953 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was confirmed on 27 Oct 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. Tom was confirmed by his father in Concordia Lutheran Church, 3855 N. Seeley Ave, Chicago, Illinois. He received a red Bible imprinted with his name. He graduated in Jun 1981 in San Diego, California. Ph.D. in Mathematics from University of California San Diego under the supervision of Audrey Terras. Thesis "Special functions and harmonic analysis on the Riemannian symmetric space Pn."
