1.Q.What can SGA do for me?
A. Student Government Association can help student organizations in activities including but not limited to:
- Allowing some organizations to petition SGA for funding certain projects or events.
- Representing student organizations to the administration and faculty.
- Addressing student organizations concerns.
2. Q.Who can request funds?
A.Any approved student organization can request funds from SGA.
3. Q.How do I become an approved student organization?
A.Each interested group must fill out an application which can be found here . We encourage groups to meet with Dean Campbell before filling out the application.
4.Q.How can I request funds?
A.Each organization must complete a contingency request application and a contingency request form. Both can be found here. Organizations are encouraged to return the completed forms to the SGA office as soon as possible. They must be turned in no later than two week before the student organization wants to appear before SGA.
5.Q.What does SGA look for in approving contingency request?
A.Student government association follows certain guidelines (attached to the contingency request form) when debating whether to approve a contingency request. Any more questions please contact SGA at studentgovernmentassocation@augustana.edu .
6.Q.How can I best prepare to appear in front of SGA?
A.Preparation and practice are most important. Well prepared groups have the best chance of getting their request approved. Groups are encouraged to contact the President of Student Government Association ASAP when they want to request funds. Also groups are encouraged to attend SGA meetings on Tuesdays in the College Center Boardroom at 7PM .
