Begun in the Spring of 2006, SAFARI participated in the local immigration rally on May 1st. We also presented at Augustana's "Tunnel of Oppression" on the realities of immigration & we held a movie viewing of "60 Days: Immigration".
SAFARI works to make a difference locally and nationally concerning refugee and immigration issues. We support fair and humane policies for all immigrants and refugees in the United States. We work to advocate comprehensive reform for our broken immigration system. We work with local immigration and refugee organizations to help our area immigrant communities. We work to educate the Augustana campus about refugee and immigration issues by emphasizing their human aspect.
Meeting time: We will meet at least once a month. Other meetings will be decided upon by members.
