Overview:

OΣO has a long and rich history of diversity and tradition.
It was founded in 1920 by men from Augustana who sought to escape the daily grind of college life
and seek refuge from the constant “rat race” through the form of brotherhood.
Over its 86 years, Omicron Sigma Omicron has seen a variety of young men enter its membership and grow both individually and as part of an organization.
United under a common goal, the men of OΣO have continually embraced individuality while learning from each other in the bonds of friendship.
Hence, the OΣO motto: “The fraternity doesn’t make you. You make the fraternity.”

OΣO Stats:

Official Colors: Ebony & Gold

Official Crest: An Eagle atop a shield engraved with a bow and arrow and cross,
with a banner draped across the center featuring an axe, peace symbol, and scale;
surrounded by olive branches; above a ribbon presenting the fraternity letters, birth year, and Latin maxim.

Official Credo: “Equals among equals.”

Official Meeting: Held weekly in the College Center loft on Thursday evenings at 7:30.

Official Pride Day: Each Wednessday of the school year, celebrated by wearing lettered shirts other fraternity clothing.

OΣO Facts:

Organizational Size: 45 currently active members among an even larger composition
- currently the largest fraternity on campus.

Life during OΣO: Contrary to popular belief, fraternity life doesn't monopolize all of your time,
or at least Omcrion Sigma Omcrion doesn't believe it has to or should.
The men of OΣO pride themselves in participating in a variety of non-Greek functions,
including varsity athletics, academics, club sports, music ensembles, common interest groups,
and other committments while still remaining active in the fraternity.
OΣO encourages social diversity and time management outside fraternity life,
as well as promotes active roles within the fraternity in the forms of leadership and other organizational contributions.

Life after OΣO: While some brothers would sarcastically argue that there is no life after OΣO,
Omcrion Sigma Omicron has graduated a variety of proceedingly successful men throughout its lifetime;
ranging from reverends to financiers, and from teachers to businessmen of all types.
From the clergy to entrepeneurship, OΣO has helped prepare many of its members for a wide spectrum of careers.
