Chi Omega Gamma
We're all COG sisters each one the other's friend, and we'll be COG sisters 'till all this world shall end.
Welcome to COG
Chi Omega Gamma was founded in 1925 at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.
The seven charter members were: Helen Sheveland, Dorothy Youngberg, Lois Oline, Lorraine Ossain, Clarice Swanson, Lillian Wilson and Mildred Anderson.
The legacy started by these seven women has been carried throughout the years. The founding members saw the need for another social organization on campus and founded our new sorority in 1925. This organization, unique to Augustana, chose the name COG and the symbol of the COG wheel to show the importance of close friendships and unity. Since the beginning of the sorority, each member has contributed a part of herself, making Chi Omega Gamma what it is today.
