Assistant Director of Residential Life/Coordinator of Medical Support Services
Joe Sagar joined the Residential Life staff last year as the Area Coordinator for Lower Campus here at Augustana, Andreen Hall and Seminary Hall but since has been promoted to Assistant Director of Residential Life. Originally from Manchester England, he came to the States to get his Bachelor Degree from McKendree University in Physical Education and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Nevada. Joe enjoys helping the soccer teams, spending time with his dog "Bazel" and his beautiful wife, Jess.
Cathy was raised in the Quad City area and has worked for Augustana College since February 2005. She joined the Residential Life team in August of 2013. She enjoys helping our students and in her free time enjoys spending time with her children, Bailey, Riley and Autumn.
Professional Hall Staff
Area Coordinators (ACs) are full-time, professionally trained staff members who manage an assigned residential area. They supervise staff, advise student groups, coordinate building programming, and address behavioral issues.
Hilary Charles is the Area Coordinator for Andreen, Seminary, and Swanson Commons residence halls. Hilary also works with Multicultural Student Life, and advises student groups from that office. She has recently relocated to Rock Island from Arizona where she completed her Bachelors of Social Work at Northern Arizona University, and her Masters in Social Work, emphasis in Policy, Administration and Community at Arizona State University.
Brittney Henson joined the Residential Life staff this year as the Area Coordinator for the Transitional Living Areas at Augustana College. Brittney received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her Master of Science degree from Illinois State University in College Student Personnel Administration. Brittney enjoys being outdoors, going to the movies and coffee.
Michelle is originally from Galesburg, Illinois and joined the Residential Life staff this year after finishing her Master's Degree from Western Illinois University in College Student Personnel. She had previously received her Bachelor's degree from Monmouth College in Communications and Public Relations. Michelle enjoys spending time with her partner Joey and other friends and family as well as crafting.
