Dr. Xue Gong graduated from Donghua University in China in 2010 and obtained her B.S. in mathematics and applied mathematics (mathematical finance). Subsequently, she studied mathematics at Ohio University, and obtained a master’s in 2012 and her doctorate in 2016. Her research interest is in mathematical biology and applied dynamical systems.
Dr. Gong has studied both deterministic and stochastic models in yeast cell division cycles. She has also studied a high-dimensional Lokta-Volterra equations which may be used to model cognitive processes. Her current focus is to apply dynamical systems to study behaviors of tensor approximation algorithms using sums of separable tensors.
