Paul Olsen's name has been synonymous with Augustana College track & field since 1967. Now, the college will put his name on the facility where athletes will run, throw and jump for generations to come.
The longevity of Paul Olsen's tenure has been matched by the passion with which he coaches and the level of excellence his teams have achieved. His career highlights are befitting a coach who has received induction to the Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
While
many of his athletes have excelled at the highest levels, Olsen has
given his best to every one of the thousands of athletes whose lives he
has touched. His athletes often speak of the positive influence Paul
Olsen had on their years at Augustana, where the coach who holds a
Ph.D. in English literature is also a tenured faculty member.
