- Ma-Ka-Tai-Me-She-Kia-Kiah (Black Hawk). The "War Dept. of
Washington D.C. portrait" by James Byrd King. Original was probably
destroyed in fire [1/24/1865] at Smithsonian Institution years ago. Black
Hawk is 66-70 years old at the time of sitting [1833?].
