Sunday 17th Sept 1865,
This night I was taken
with a severe fever and
continued without intermission
for 48 hours

Wed 20th
Some little better rced[received] 2
letters one from Mother +
one from Bro, answered
to day Brothers

21st
Came down in office this
evening made Requisitions

22nd
In office all day long
very busy day , not able
to eat a particle am living
on Milk, Punch + Eggnog

23rd
Great Equinavial Storm
Rain! Rain! Rain! and
so dark can scarcely see
to read or write
