"Partners in Learning" is a cooperative venture between Augustana College and two local public schools, Horace Mann Elementary Choice School and Rock Island High School and is designed as a program to introduce the World Wide Web to local school children. "Partners in Learning" utilizes Internet resources that support school curriculum already in place. The web site which has been in operation since January 1995, is a collection of relevant Internet resources and rare historical material from the College Library's Special Collections.

The Library scanned historical images of town and country life from our communities which demonstrate changes that have occurred over the years in the places that students live. The collection contains photographs and interviews with the descendants of local Native American tribes, as well as interviews with members of the "Old Settlers Society" which were conducted in the second decade of the 20th century. These are enhanced by postcards and photos of life in a midwest river community

High school curriculum is supported by diaries from two local Civil War soldiers. Students have assisted by transcribing one of the diaries. The site also contains a botany project done by high school science students.
