Research in Asian Studies

Online Databases Reference Books Circulating Books

Here is a guide to finding information for research in for the Fall 2007 Research in Asian Studies Seminar.  Your main resources are online periodical databases, websites, and books at the Thomas Tredway Library.

Online Databases
The following databases are a great place to start to find secondary sources relating to the Asian Studies that have been published in scholarly journals and books.  An effective way to search is to start with a broad topic, such as "Taiwan" or "Haiku," and then to refine your search as needed.

Most of the following databases specialize in an area of academic scholarship (history, religion, political science, etc.)  Many of the possible research topics for this class are relevant to multiple academic disciplines, so be encouraged to try several different databases for information!
