New student checklist
This checklist will help you take all the necessary steps to get ready to attend Augustana in the fall.
❑ Notify other colleges of your decision to attend Augustana
❑ Join the Facebook student group for the Augustana College Class of 2021.
❑ Parents or guardians, join the Augustana College Class of 2021 parent group on Facebook.
Orientation and Registration
❑ Choose two courses from each Learning Perspective that interest you and bring your choices to Orientation and Registration. See course descriptions.
❑ Collect other items to bring to Orientation and Registration: current email address and mobile phone numbers for parents or guardians, completed employment forms, your driver's license or photo ID, original Social Security card, and birth certificate or passport (for employment purposes).
❑ Check the student and parent schedules (full day) for your Orientation and Registration date.
❑ Complete the survey about Orientation and Registration after you attend. You'll receive a link to the survey in your Augustana email.
❑ Check your Augustana email regularly after attending Orientation and Registration.
❑ Do not drop courses on Arches after you attend Orientation and Registration. If changes are necessary, your advisor will help you make them on Friday, Aug. 19.
Housing, dining and parking
❑ Find out more about living on campus, what to bring to campus, and move-in day here.
❑ Submit your housing application online starting May 1 at housing.augustana.edu.
❑ Apply for the Residential Learning Experience by June 2, if interested. The application is part of housing signup.
❑ Pay housing deposit by June 30.
❑ For special accommodations in housing, submit your housing application, request for accommodations and medical documentation by the priority deadline June 30.
❑ You will choose a meal plan after you arrive on campus in the fall.
❑ You will receive more information about parking after you receive your housing assignment in mid-July.
❑ Attend the Residential Life Open House on Aug. 5 to see your room and possibly meet your roommate(s).
❑ Request final, official transcripts from high schools and colleges attended, due July 1. For more information, click here.
❑ Submit your immunization records online by July 1. You also can turn in the forms when you attend Orientation and Registration.
❑ Submit requests for special accommodations in the classroom by July 15, if possible.
❑ Complete "AlcoholEdu" starting July 14. Part I is due by Aug. 17. Go to Everfi learning platforms and enter registration code c143084a.
❑ Submit an insurance waiver by Sept. 2 if you do not want coverage through the Augustana Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan.
❑ Sign and return your Financial Aid Award Notification either accepting or rejecting each award.
❑ If requested, submit all forms and documents to the Office of Financial Aid to complete the federal verification process.
❑ Notify the Office of Financial Aid of all outside awards you have received by sending a copy of your notification letter from the organization.
❑ If you are eligible for a Federal Direct Loan, and have not already done so, complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling if you plan to borrow a Federal Direct Loan. Instructions were included in your award notification labeled "Federal Direct Loan." Additional instructions also will be mailed in late May.
Athletes must complete the Student Athlete Sports Medicine form by Aug. 1.

❑ Attend Multicultural Student Orientation starting Sunday, Aug. 13. See Multicultural Student Orientation.
❑ Plan to move in on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 17.
❑ Attend Welcome Week from Thursday, Aug. 17 through Sunday, Aug. 20.
❑ Pick up your Welcome Week folder any time from 9 a.m.-noon on Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Gerber Center, Gävle rooms.
❑ First-year students should complete the Augie Reads assignment before classes start on Monday, Aug. 21.
