A Q-C Point of Pride: Augustana's new Center for Student Life "is an impressive facility which demonstrates the ability of one of America's top-rated liberal arts colleges to marry the college's rich historical past with the state-of-the-art present."
National teaching award goes to professor at Augustana College: The National Conference of Black Political Scientists has named an Augustana College professor, Dr. Christopher Whitt, as its 2013 Anna Julia Cooper Teacher of the Year. He was recognized as a teacher who "regularly went above and beyond" the normal requirements of the job, and who left an indelible impression on many students.
Library director honored for leadership: Carla Tracy, director of the Thomas Tredway Library at Augustana College, has been awarded the Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year Award for 2013. The award is presented by the Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries.
Augustana named College of the Year by National Hispanic Institute: The award recognizes Augustana for hosting the Midwest Great Debate each summer since 2004, and it serves as a token of thanks for the "extraordinary support" provided by the college's admissions office.
Augustana designated as military friendly: Augustana was added to Victory Media’s list of Military Friendly Schools®. The 2014 Military Friendly Schools® list honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country for doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.
Augie Old Main project honored by NAWIC: The meticulous restoration of Old Main, a historic Quad-Cities landmark, has received an Award of Excellence from the Quad-Cities chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.
Academic All-Americans: Augustana College ranks sixth in the nation among all divisions with 146 Academic All-Americans, second among Division III schools behind only MIT. The Vikings have produced two Academic All-Americans of the year and had 26 student-athletes earn NCAA postgraduate scholarships.
