UPDATE REGARDING FACILITIES REPAIRS - September 16, 2014
1) Closure of 6th ave & 35th Street
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 18, 6th Avenue and 35th Street near campus will be closed for asphalt repair. The work will begin at 7 a.m. Thursday and continue until Friday, Sept. 19, at 5 p.m. (weather permitting).
2) Andreen Chimney
Beginning Monday, Sept. 8, at 8 a.m., a crew will begin removing the chimney on the roof of Andreen. Students living in Andreen's apartments and on the second and third floors are advised to keep their blinds shut. Workers will be on the roof area outside the windows. The project also will be noisy at times.
While this work is going on, the area between the Andreen parlor and the Residential Life Office will be closed. However, the Residential Life Office will be accessible from other entrances.
Please be advised that there will be heavy equipment, vehicles and contracted workers in the Andreen area. This project will take 15-20 business days, depending on the weather.
3) Tredway Library Quad Entrance
Starting next week (weather permitting), the Quad entrance to the Tredway Library will be partially closed so the concrete steps can be repaired. The project is expected to take approximately five weeks. During this time, the area will be dusty, but the entrance will remain accessible.
The west side of the stairs will be closed off first. At that time, patrons may use the east side of the stairs to enter and exit the library. After the west side is repaired and re-opened, the east side of the stairs will be closed.
4) Sorenen Grounds Garage
Starting the week of August 18th, tuckpointing and roof replacement will begin on the Sorensen Grounds Garage. This project will take 4-5 weeks to complete. There will be dust, noise, and equipment around the building, as well as in the alley between Sorensen Hall and the Sorensen Grounds Garage.
5) Exterior of Bergendoff and Centennial
Tuck-pointing and cleaning of the brick/stone When: Starting 7/28/14 until further notice. This project will be going on for several weeks. Please use caution when walking near or around these buildings. This type of work generates a lot of dust and water run off.
