It's a frequently asked employee question this time of year, "When are we closed for the holidays?" The College is closed on Monday, December 24th and Tuesday, December 25th to observe Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. December 26, 27, and 28th are "extra vacation days" and we are also closed on Monday, December 31st and Tuesday, January 1st to observe New Years Eve and New Year's Day. Most employees will not be expected or allowed to work on these days. A few departments do provide essential services while the College is closed and receive holiday pay as well as extra compensation for this work. In addition, some departments may ask employees to rotate coverage to make sure that year-end issues are covered.
