The Interactive Learning Lab is a place where learners of all ages can explore the basics of energy, how wind and solar power can contribute to energy creation, and how simple lifestyle adjustments can impact the environment. The Lab offers a variety of hands-on learning experiences for K-12 field trips, boy and girl scout troops, and after school programs.
As a Lab volunteer, you will have the option of guiding the students through exhibits, helping with the hands-on experiments, developing activities, or providing general office support.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC) is an independent, non-profit organization that plays an integral role in the community’s health. We provide free and confidential pregnancy support for women in the community, especially those facing unplanned pregnancies. We offer many services ranging from free pregnancy tests to adoption referrals and parenting programs. We are looking for volunteers to help in our office and with special events.

Current opportunities include:

Virtual Reality Game: Calling all puzzlers! Put in volunteer hours at home by helping create virtual puzzles or brain teasers as part of a virtual reality game called "The Scott County Cornet Caper." Each month throughout 2012, a student volunteer is needed to create "clues" or puzzles that utilize facts and trivia about Scott County. KidToons Workshop Assistants: Every Saturday morning, young children and their families will come to the Putnam Museum to enjoy a short feature film in our Giant Screen Theater followed by activities. We are looking for volunteers to help the children during the activity portion of these sessions from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. each Saturday. The Quad City Botanical Center is a private, non-profit organization that strives to foster an appreciation of our natural world through educational programs, display gardens, and special events.
