The Intramural Program offers a broad spectrum of activities for the individuals of Augustana College and teams interested in competition at varied skill levels; in personal challenges; and, in fitness as well as enjoyment and satisfaction. The success of the Intramural Program depends, in part, on the Team Manager and/or Fraternity and Sorority Intramural Chairs. The program could not function without these people organizing teams. These individuals have an extremely important role as the liaison between the staff members of the Intramural Program and the members of a team and/or organization. The Intramural Policy Manual has been designed to provide an individual with the information necessary to fulfill the duties as a Team Manager. The manual contains policies and procedures that are essential for a team to participate in the Intramural Program. The Team Manager should read this manual thoroughly and be familiar with the policies and procedures of the Intramural Program. The Team Manager must attend the manager’s meeting (for sports whereby a manager’s meeting is scheduled) to receive pertinent information for that sport.
Intramural Sports is fun and exciting. It is a
great opportunity for meeting new people and building relationships. Each
year the team/organization accumulating the most Intramural points will win
the Jason Garrett Memorial Championship Trophy, signifying their hard work,
dedication, and accomplishment throughout the academic year in Intramurals.
The Department of Recreational Sports hopes the following information
provided gives good insight into proper techniques and procedures to help
make the Intramural Program a safe and fun experience. |
