Inside a kindergarten classroom with Augustana students

Assessment Time

During the our last week with the kindergartners before Christmas break, Kate and I did a lot of assessment. We assessed the students on their counting abilities, number recognition, shape recognition, and more. Although these weren’t the most fun activities to do with the students, it was interesting to see how well they were doing. Some of the students did better than I would have expected on their assessments. Others, however, did not do as well as I would have hoped. The assessments were very helpful because now Kate and I will have a better idea of where to go from here when we get back from break. We now have a better understanding of which students need more work and which students need to be challenged more.

Hopefully the long break does not set the students back to far! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! Class doesn’t resume until January 9th, so I won’t be blogging for a weeks.
