So it is the first day of Spring Term, and it has been an odd feeling to be back in the U.S. and on campus. I find myself missing Vietnam at weird times. It has been nice to be home in a place that I am more familiar with, but over the past month, Vietnam [...]

This week, lets see. We are in Hanoi, and it is a really crowded city. We got here on Thursdaywe saw the Hanoi Hilton, which is the POW camp that john McCain was at for 4 to 5 years. On Friday we took a trip to the perfume pagoda. It is a Buddhist Temple that [...]

On the 11th we left Saigon for Hue. We took a fairly small plane and it was a pretty rough landing! Luckily, we made it! Our hotel in Hue is absolutely amazing–as the slogan says, it definitely “exceeds expectations!” For those who are curious, you can check it out at: http://www.camellia-hotels.com.vn/ . Although I absolutely love [...]

But we got to the city around 5:00 this evening. Driving through it, it seemed much more relaxed than Saigon. [...]

Hello! This past weekend was spent traveling to the Mekong Delta. Words cannot even describe what I saw and experienced. The weather was perfect (high 80s) and we were able to take a boat ride up and down the river. We saw the floating markets, where all of this fresh produce is sold. We also [...]

This week has been pretty amazing so far. On Wednesday we went to the Cu Chi tunnels and the main Cao Dai Temple here in Vietnam. The Temple was a really interesting experience because we got to see the midday worship service. See, Cao Dai’sts are sort of a hybrid of Buddhism, Catholicism, and a couple other [...]

Our first week here in Saigon is coming to an end so quickly. But it has been such a good time. Though there has been a lot that we have done, I will try not to ramble about it all! Probably our most interesting day was when we visited the Cao Dai Temples and the [...]

Hey Everyone, at long last another post. Well we have been in Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City for several days now and I must say aside from a cold I am adjusting quite well. We have done so much in the past few days, and as always I am a little short on time [...]
