Hello again! We’re getting close; only four days left until I fly out of Chicago headed for Singapore. I have been so busy at camp, that I have barely had time to think about the trip, and definitely no time to pack or get nervous. There is still so much I need to get done in the next 36 hours at camp, that I haven’t been thinking much about all the stuff I have to do when I get home. Thank goodness I have my mother to be thinking about that for me. I just got off the phone with her this morning, and she already had about 50 things for me to do when I get home tomorrow. At least one of us is planning for this trip!
On a slightly more interesting note, I found out my volunteer placement last week. I will be working in the Kositsamosorn School, which is an elementary school. I will be working in the English tutoring program, teaching English to 5th and 6th graders. This is exactly what I wanted to do, so I’m really excited about it! The teachers I will be working with know a little bit of English, so I’m hoping that will make things a little easier for me.
Before that, however, I get to explore Singapore! The friend I am visiting, Natalie (camp name Bubbles), has made me a schedule of things to do every day I am there so that I get to see all the best parts of Singapore without getting lost! I have to say, I am most excited for the Asian food. Yum!
Well, it’s about time for me to go awake some sleeping campers, so I’m signing off for now. Thanks for joining me on this exciting journey and be sure to check back soon!
