Last weekend a group of 10 of us rented a large house boat and went cruising around the closest rivers and canals north of Sydney. With none of us having any formal boat training we were a little anxious to see how we would do with a several hundred thousand dollar boat that was just handed over to us after a 5 minute briefing of the controls. When we arrived on the boat our jaws dropped to the floor as we went to explore the many features of the boat. The boat included two queen size beds, a full kitchen, living room and dining room, outside grill, radio, television as well as a front, back and roof porch. On Friday night we got all settled in and hung out until 4 or 5 in the morning playing Euchre, grilling and doing flips off the roof of the boat. The next day we woke up entirely too early at around 9 am and proceeded to drive around, get lost and eventually drive back in the same direction that we originally came from. Despite accomplishing absolutely nothing that day we once again had a great time swimming around and exploring the beaches. Although it pretty much rained the entire weekend we all managed to have a blast and were able to bring the boat back in one piece.
