The worldwide Augustana College experience

T Minus One Day

Tomorrow I leave for Ecuador… yikes! I’ve been planning for this day for so long and yet today has been filled with frantic running around and countless last minute shopping trips. The things I’ve had the most trouble shopping for have been gifts for my host family. But after collecting some great advice from friends and family I was able to pick up some items that I hope will make my Ecuadorian family happy and show just how much I appreciate their generosity. Now the difficulty will be packing these gifts in an already full suitcase!

Speaking of my host family: All I’ve heard about them so far is that I have a mother, a 97 year old grandfather, and three siblings (two brothers with their own families and a sister living at home). This is my first experience with siblings but seeing as how they are all in their 30′s, I don’t think I should have too much trouble adjusting to sibling life. :)

I will do my best to blog as much as possible but I won’t know how easy that will be until I check out the computer situation at school in Cuenca. On the itinerary for the next couple days is a lot of traveling so sit tight and I’ll post again as soon as I can! :)

Thanks for sticking with me and I can’t wait to share my adventure with you!
Wishing you all the best,
Lindsay
