Hello, my name is Taralee Morgan, and I am a sophmore at Augustana College. I am planning on double majoring in Spanish and business, but I’m still exploring my options. I enjoy being involved in other activities on campus such as singing with the Jenny Lind Women’s Ensemble, PRISM, Latinos Unidos, and After Hours. During the upcoming Fall Trimester, I will be going on Latin American Term, which travels to Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico. I am very excited to be able to experience the culture of another part of the world and to share my journey with you.
I can’t believe how short of a time we have left here in Mexico. I feel like this trip just started. My friend Nick told me a while ago that the next time we got on a plane we’d be going home. I miss my family and friends so badly, but thinking of leaving this [...]
The past couple of weeks have been filled with lots of travel, illness, studies, and the new excitement of Mexico. We had multiple excursions in Peru, and finding a phone or internet proved very difficult, if the time to look could even be found. One of my favorite activities that we did while we were [...]

I cannot believe that it has already been 2 weeks that we have been here in Ecuador. I thought it felt as though I had been here forever, then someone mentioned to me that today is 2 weeks, and I gasped with shock. Time is flying here and our rigorous schedule always keeps me busy. This past [...]
We arrived to Cuenca last night and today we had our first set of classes. I am sitting at CEDEI (where we have classes) on a lovely patio with beautiful flowers. Two little girls are watching me write this from the window, and every time I look at them they giggle. So far, Ecuador has [...]
Well, we made it to Houston with plenty of time to spare…. perhaps a little too much time, considering the length of this layover and my excitement to get to Ecuador. The flight from Chicago was a bit taxing, most likely due to my lack of sleep and the extremely arctic temperature of the cabin. [...]
