A window inside life at Augustana College

Good Grades, Social Life, Enough Sleep…

Hey friends!

I learned a very valuable lesson this afternoon as I received the results of my last Psychology test: it’s impossible to be amazing at everything. I heard somewhere that college life basically gives you the choice of two of the following three areas; good grades, social life, enough sleep. I don’t know if I believe that this is true necessarily, but this past weekend, I made the mistake of choosing only social life. I played around with my friends, went to Bingo, watched a bunch of movies and just kind of lounged around. I put off studying for my Psych exam until the last possible moment. This was a terrible idea!

The three week break in the middle of the term certainly didn’t help, but it was my lack of studying that really did me in. So here is my most sound advice thusfar… STUDY!!! Remember above all else that you are at school to get an education. Augustana is an amazing place to meet people, explore, and have fun. But it is first and foremost a place of Higher Education. Don’t take advantage of that. Plan out your time wisely and make sure that your studies come first. Obviously, I’m not saying to do nothing but study, because the social aspect of college is equally as fulfilling as the studies, but, at least for me, I don’t want to spend all of this money to fail tests.

I hope you all are keeping up with your New Year’s Resolutions. I know I have been. Mine was to learn something new every day. Today I learned just how bad it can be if I don’t prepare properly for an exam!

Stay beautiful, lovely readers
