A window inside life at Augustana College

Spring Break!

While I’m not technically on spring break yet (I still have one more final that I need to study for and take), I figured I might as well blog while I still have time. This spring break is probably going to be the busiest and best spring break of my life! All-in-all, I have about six days actually at home, out of the two weeks we get for spring break. For four days, I get to travel to Colorado with three other Augustana students and a faculty member to the National Leadership and Character Symposium at the U.S. Air Force Academy. I’m super excited for this! I get to see Aron Ralston, the guy who 127 hours was based on. I can’t wait to hear his incredible journey! I also get to hear  Nick Bollettieri speak, who coached Maria Sharapova, Jelena Janković and the Williams sisters. Considering all of this is free, minus airport food, I am incredibly pumped for my time in Colorado, especially since I haven’t been to Colorado since 8th grade for Girl Scouts. I’ve also heard the U.S. Air Force Academy is incredibly beautiful. And I hopefully will get to see two friends from D.C. before my flight back!

After I come home from Colorado, I will be in Illinois for less than 24 hours before I leave for Florida to visit my grandma. That’s going to be one of the most relaxing parts of my spring break. I get to go to the beach, sleep in, play tennis and lay out in the sun. After having an incredibly stressful term, I can’t think of anything more wonderful to end my spring break. After Florida, I will come home for a day to celebrate my 21st birthday with my parents and sister and then go back to school. My birthday is the first Tuesday of spring term, so I think going to all these places will make the time pass in a flash! Well, I need to go start my study guide, but I will be sure to blog after Colorado and Florida.
