One of my new favorite websites to go to is called “1000 Awesome Things” and as the name may suggest, it’s a countdown of, well, 1000 awesome things in our day-to-day lives, so I thought why not take a moment and commemorate those friends who seem to always be there for you.
I’m one of those people who doesn’t really depend on others. I take care of myself and don’t often branch out to my friends when I’m feeling down or there is something really bothering me. That’s why it’s so awesome when they just know. I had been feeling really bummed out all week and trying my best to hide it, so it surprised me when I was talking to my friend on the phone and he asked me, “Are you okay?” I, being the stubborn person I am, was not ready to give in, I told him, “Yeah, I’m fine,” he continued to pester me until finally he came over to my room to try and talk things out. After speaking to him, I felt a little bit better, and from there it was like a domino effect of others trying to check on my well-being.
Of course, I was a little perturbed by the constant, “Are you feeling alright”s being directed towards me, but by the end of the day when I was laying in bed, I couldn’t help but grin a little at the reminder that there is always someone out there looking out for me. That’s why it’s so incredibly awesome and butterfly inducing when your friends just know. Thankfully I’m blessed with a ton of people at my school and back at home who I know will always have my back and, well, that’s simply
