Oh my, what a busy term this has been! I’ve hardly been able to catch my breath. My classes this term require loads of reading and writing. Thanksgiving was a nice break. I had a wonderful time with my family filled with lots of turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, and so many desserts! Being around my family makes me so happy and all of my stresses float away
One of those stresses was finding housing for senior year. One of the downsides of going to a small liberal arts college is that there is not enough housing for all 2,500 students. So your senior year you have to move off campus (well, you can wait until all of the underclassman have their housing and then see what’s left, but your chances aren’t that great). Thanks to the wonderful housing fair Augie put on before Thanksgiving my roommate and I were able to talk to landlords and even tour an apartment. We fell in love with the apartment we toured and signed the lease this week!! It’s so nice to not have to worry about that anymore.
I’m also starting to apply for internships. On Wednesday I applied for the Texas Medical Center Summer Research Internship. This is only open to juniors and any major can apply. I would be honored if I get accepted, so keep your fingers crossed! Augie just introduced this amazing website called “Augie Hub” a month or so ago and they post all kinds of internships and jobs on it. It’s a really great website and you even get emails when new internships/jobs are posted that relate to your major. Hopefully I’ll find something for this summer!
The holidays are in full swing now! Our apartment is all decorated for Christmas (and smells like Christmas, thanks to my roommate’s wax warmer!), the radio is playing Christmas songs, and there are holiday t.v. movies on galore! I watched Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! tonight. Yes, I’m 20 years old, and I watch the Disney Channel
Charlie is adorable, what can I say?
Have a wonderful weekend!!
