A window inside life at Augustana College

Hey Guys! My name is Matthew Hallberg, and this year I will be a senior at Augustana. I’m a history major, and I also have a minor in political science. Music is a big part of my life here at Augie, since I play the trumpet in concert band and pep band, and I am also a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a music fraternity on campus. I am also a member of Residence Hall Association, and I also have a weekly radio show on WAUG, our internet radio station.

Back to Reality (Kind of): A Mississippi Wrapup-March 1, 2009

This is the final entry that I wrote about the Mississippi trip, it mainly serves as a recap…   For the sake of completeness, I feel that I should round out my trip and compose one final entry detailing my last day in Ocean Springs and the ride back. On Friday morning, we woke up, […]

This is the 5th entry out of a series of 6 that I wrote while I was on a service trip to Mississippi in February of 2009…   Let me explain the title of this entry before you get all confused. On my previous two mission trips, Thursday night was commonly referred to as “Cry […]

This is 4th in a series of 6 entries that I wrote when I was down in Mississippi in February 2009…   As I promised in last night’s update, tonight I’ll be talking more about the Canadians we have helping us out this week. But first, as is always the drill, let me tell you […]

This is the third in a series of six entries that I wrote over the course of the Campus Ministries Spring Break Service Trip to Ocean Springs, Mississippi in February of 2009…   Today, as you may have learned from my previous note, was Mardi Gras, and it was rather interesting, becuase all my life, […]

The Third Time’s the Charm (and completely different): Mississippi Part 2-February 23, 2009

This is second of six entries that I wrote during my service trip to Mississippi in February of 2009…   Well, I’ve completed my first day of work on this trip, and I must take a moment to make some comparisons between this trip and the previous two that I’ve been on of this type. […]

Greetings from Mississippi! (February 22, 2009)

So, I just got back from a Service Trip to Kentucky, but instead, I’m right now reposting on this blog some notes I wrote on Facebook from the last time I went on a mission trip.  These next 6 notes were all written in late February/early March of 2009…   For those of you that […]

Spring Break 2011: We’re all O”K” to go…

Hey Guys- So, fresh off my Blog-Off(once again, thanks for the help on that one Katrina), I find myself standing at the door of Spring Break.  Obviously, this is my last Spring Break of my College career, so how am I spending it?  By schlepping down to Appalachia for a week and descending into chronic […]

A Valentines Day Blog-Off (the Matt Hallberg remix)

So, for all of you people who follow the AugieBlog with more fervor than your favorite Soap Opera, you may have seen my fellow Blogger Katrina Jensen put up her entry in the Blog-Off.  If you have, then you know the back-story.  If not, here it is:  I was at chapel this past Wednesday, and […]

Change I do believe in

Let me take you all back a while.  Actually, quite a while.  In fact, all the way back to September 1, 2007, the first day I set foot on the campus of Augustana College as a student.  I checked into Westerlin, got my key to my room, and walked into the door to drop off […]

2010: What a year!

Just in case you didn’t notice, I haven’t made an entry in this for 4 months…  So, in the spirit of starting the new year on a good and punctual note, I’m writing this entry now…  There is a lot that has gone on since the middle of August, so I’ll just try to say […]
