A window inside life at Augustana College

Hello! My name is Kaylee Wagner. I am a senior majoring in Creative Writing at Augustana College. I’m from Peoria, IL, and I love to read and write. I am a nerdfighter (check out the vlogbrothers on YouTube for information); when I have time, I try to manage my own vlog. On campus, I am a part of SAGA (Prose Board), SCAN Club, and After Hours. I also work at the Thomas Tredway Library at Augustana. When not in class or working, my friends and I like to get together on weekends and watch movies.

Happy National Poetry Month!

Hello! So…have any of you noticed the brightly-colored eggs hidden (albeit not very well, but that’s the point) around campus? If you have, you’ll notice there is a folded piece of paper inside as well as a piece of candy or prize. Don’t throw that paper away! It’s a poem. April is National Poetry Month–nothing […]

To the Person Leaving Letters All Over the Library

Hello! I just have a short post for today: To the person leaving letters all over the library, I just want to say Thank You. Thank you for making other people’s days a little bit brighter, especially since it’s finals week. Thank you for proving that people still write in cursive (remember when we were […]

The World Needs More Love Letters

Hello! I was re-reading Amanda’s latest post the other day (“Love Letters Lessons: Inspiration to Seize the Day”). It reminded me that love letters are still needed in the world, especially since Feb. 14th is coming up. We can’t just let the habit of letter writing die out! Fortunately, I don’t think it will. I […]

Hats! Hats for Sale!

Hello! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? If you are in the Midwest, you know it is pretty cold. And when I say that, I mean it is absolutely freezing outside. Absolute zero would be warmer…maybe. If you live somewhere warm (AKA not the Midwest), here’s a picture: Now, I’ve noticed that Augustana students are […]

A Christmas Crush

Hello! First off, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!* I hope you got everything you wanted and spent some quality time with your family. So one of my favorite Christmas movies–right after Charlie Brown, the Grinch, and those Rankin/Bass specials (you know, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer?)–is The […]

Julbord Info

Hello! Earlier today I posted about my trip to Bishop Hill with the Scandinavian Club. At the end of the long post there was a sentence or two about Augustana’s julbord this Sunday. I now have more information about it: Julbord will be December 15th at 6 pm in Founder’s basement. Please, RSVP by December […]

Tomte Spotting at Bishop Hill

Hello! On Sunday (Dec. 8th), the Scandinavian Club travelled to Bishop Hill, IL, for its annual Chocolate Walk. Being a member of the club and a lover of chocolate, I, of course, went with my friend Michelle. It was the perfect day for such an event due to the fact it was snowing. I know […]

A Short Post After Thanksgiving

Hello! Guess what I made last night? Yes, I, a 21 year old, made a hand turkey. And it is beautiful. I will hang it on the fridge for all to admire. I hope your Thanksgiving went well, and if you are going out on Black Friday, be safe. ~Kaylee

Destruction in Washington, IL

Hello! After seeing the other new bloggers use their first post as an introduction, I hate having to write about such a serious topic for mine, but this is about something very close to me…literally. If you haven’t heard, bad storms and tornadoes recently ravaged the Midwest. A total of six people were killed in […]
