Augustana College Sports Medicine
Direct health care services are the hallmark of health care to college student-athletes. Health and safety require a supportive environment as well as the technical skills and experience to guide and direct a broad range of programs for these purposes.
In addition, efforts to actively support college relations among student-athletes and staff are made through sound professional informational resources; through professional, moral and ethical conduct; and through broad spectrum communication. These efforts in athletic health care are developed through participation in local, regional and national leadership roles.
Finally, the Athletic Training Program supports the Athletic Department in order to bind communication, teaching, and clinical practice in a focus of human growth and enrichment for both athletic and academic constituents. Cooperation with the activities of our Augustana Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Services (Dean of Students, the Athletic Department, and the Medical Community) engenders responsible and professional actions among athletic training staff and students.
