Celebration of Christmas 2016

A Christmas Messiah, by George Frideric Handel 

The 90-minute performance in Centennial Hall, 3703 7th Ave., will focus on the Christmas story, and there will be no intermission. A limited number of free tickets is available for junior and senior high students and their families, thanks to support from the Meredith Foundation.

Lessons and Carols

Thursday, Dec. 15, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Ascension Chapel, 820 38th St.

Enjoy a beautiful spiritual presentation of lessons and carols within the intimate setting of Ascension Chapel. Augustana Chamber Singers, Ascension Ringers and Campus Ministries present the story of Christ's birth in readings and song. Free and open to the public.

Christmas at Augustana

The 2017 performances are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Centennial Hall, 3703 7th Ave.

Tickets will be available in October.

Three hundred student musicians will take the stage, featuring performances by the Augustana Brass Ensemble, Ascension Ringers, Augustana Symphony Orchestra, Augustana Choir, Augustana Concert Chorale and Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble.

The filming of 2016 2 p.m. performance will be broadcast in the Quad Cities area on Christmas Eve at 9:30 a.m. on channel 8.3, on Christmas Day at 11:30 a.m. on channel 8 and available online at www.WQAD.com.
