Students prepare for April & May performances

The Augustana Department of Theatre Arts and Opera@Augustana will present the off-beat musical Bat Boy this spring.
This video requires Flash Player.

Described in The New York Times as "a jaggedly imaginative mix of skewering humor and energetic glee," this wonderfully off-beat musical has become a cult favorite since it debuted in 1997. Based on a character created by the tabloid publication Weekly World News, the story concerns the plight of a half-bat, half-boy creature discovered in a cave in West Virginia. His dream of a normal and happy life disintegrates as he is forced to confront the prejudices of the narrow-minded citizens of Hope Falls.
