Greetings from Augustana!

The New Year at Augustana is off to a busy and productive start, and I hope yours is too. Last week the campus enjoyed a residency by Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow Callie Crossley and saw more than 1,000 people attend Augustana's annual community-wide commmemoration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Against the backdrop of a busy campus, the conversion of Carlsson Hall into a modern academic and administrative building continues on pace for its planned re-opening next summer.

We look forward to a number of special opportunities planned for Augustana alumni in the weeks and months ahead, not least of which is a tour of Scandinavia planned for early June. Whether in Sweden, Rock Island, Chicago or Colorado, I hope you'll find a chance to connect with your alma mater in 2008!

Sincerely,

Sue A. Rector ‘79
Assistant Vice President for Development
