Transfer Student Application Procedure
As you begin the application process at Augustana, here are some general guidelines for transfer students:
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
- While there is no application deadline, applicants applying more than 3 months prior to their entry term receive priority consideration. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply no less than 6 weeks prior to their start term. Applicants can apply as early as August 1 of the prior year.
- Admitted students who intend to enroll at Augustana must submit a $350 non-refundable deposit. Students reserving their place fall term are encouraged to submit their deposit by May 1st. Fall term students interested in priority registration must submit their deposit by May 15th. Students reserving their place for winter or spring term are encouraged to do so 1 month prior to the start of the term.
Application Requirements for Transfer students:
If you are applying as a transfer student, your application to Augustana College will be complete once you submit the following items to the Office of Admissions.
Official final high school transcripts. It should include a cumulative GPA and rank in class (if available).
Official college transcripts. Submit your official college transcripts from all institutions from which you have received college course credit.
Other items that are recommended:
Two letters of recommendations. Submit two letters of recommendation from people who know you well and who recognize and appreciate your work ethic. Examples may include professors/teachers, clergy, employers, etc. You may take the teacher evaluation form provided on the Common Application website or through the Augustana Application to your teacher for completion. References can also write a free form letter on your behalf. Return the letters of recommendation to the Office of Admissions.
A personal statement addressing why you wish to transfer to Augustana.
Admissions Interview. The admissions interview is highly recommended for all prospective students as it will provide an opportunity for you to discuss your curriculum and learning experience, while we learn about your passions and interests. Typically students who interview are admitted at a rate of 20% higher than those who do not.
Test scores (ACT/SAT) may be requested.
