What about Augustana stood out during your college search?
I chose Augustana because it is a relative small campus. I'm only here for one year, and I thought I could get more out of it on a small campus. The great thing about the campus is that there is a lot of space and it is a really green campus.
What clubs do you belong to on campus?
Because I am an international student, I am in the International Club. In this club we talk about the differences between counties, watch movies, play games and participate in the intramural sports. I'm also organizing some movies for the International and Independent Film Series. In November, I will go to Chicago for the Model United Nations as part of the politics club. I'm also in the paintball club.
What are your hobbies or interests?
As my major suggests, I'm really interested in politics. I love to watch movies, and I watch at least two a week. For sport, I swim at least two times a week. I really like to travel and want to see as much as possible of the world.
Which classes have been your favorites?
For now I've had three classes, but I loved archery. Coach Fred Whiteside is a really good, funny and nice coach, and that made the class even more fun. A nice thing about archery is that it was outside. All the other classes are inside and you have to do more for them, but archery was a moment to relax and get all the other stuff out of your mind.
How have you changed since you came to Augustana?
This is the first time that I have really been on my own, without parents who do laundry, make food, etc. So I think that I will be more independent by the end of the year - and my English will be much better.
Describe a memorable class (or experience) and what you learned from it.
I will never forget the International Student Orientation week. During this week, I met so many nice, new people. It's a perfect introduction to the American way of life.
How would you describe campus life?
Campus life is really good on Augustana. Because we have a small campus, you will see a lot of friends when you're walking around campus. There are a lot of clubs you can join and almost every night you can do something. You can go to the movies, play bingo, visit the comedy club, etc. Most of the time, I'm somewhere on campus. The campus is your home. The library is your living room, the dorm is your bedroom and the College Center your kitchen/dining room.
