Apply for Honors

Austin E. Knowlton Honors Application

Complete this Austin E. Knowlton Honors Program application and submit it online as soon as possible. When filling out the application, you will select a desired visit date. Honors visit time slots are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Your on-campus honors visit can take place between November 28 - December 12, January 9 - February 1, and March 11 - 27.

Your honors visit will include an interview and class observation. You should expect to be on campus for at least three hours during your visit. Honors visit options are dictated by available classes and faculty interviewers.

The Interview

An interview with an Augustana faculty member will complete your Austin E. Knowlton Honors Program application, and provide you a better sense of the honors experience at Augustana. Interviews provide an opportunity for you to interact with the professors that may be teaching you in the honors program.

The Writing Sample

Please submit a typed sample of your best academic writing, such as a research paper or analytic essay. We are looking for examples of  your most complex thinking, not necessarily a paper on which you received an "A" grade. Please schedule your interview on the form below. If a date is not listed on the application, all time slots have been filled for that day. We highly suggest you make the most of your time on campus. Use the form below to indicate other appointments and activities you are interested in while at Augustana for your honors visit.

Visit Confirmation

After submitting the Honors application, you will receive an honors visit confirmation email (so be sure you are checking the email you provide below) detailing the time and date of your honors visit. You will also receive an email confirming your overall admissions visit from our campus visit coordinators.

    *Students who interview on Monday, March 25 will be required to sign up for the corresponding Experience Augustana event at augustana.edu/experience.

    We invite you to make the most of your visit to Augustana. Appointment options include, but are not limited to: meeting with faculty in your area(s) of interest, attending class, meeting with a coach or fine arts director, or observing a practice. Please indicate any appointments and activities you would like to do while on campus in the box provided. The more specific you can be, the easier it is for us to accommodate your requests (example: history class, baseball practice, biology faculty appointment).
