Awarded to full-time students based on financial need. Financial need is determined from information gathered from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in conjunction with the total cost of attending Augustana for a year (including an estimate for cost of books, transportation and personal expenses).
Family Allowance Grant
Award amount is $3,000. Students from families that have two or more children enrolled full-time at Augustana are given a $3000 family allowance in their financial assistance package. A student receiving $3000 or more in gift assistance from any other source (state, federal or Augustana aid programs) are not eligible for this award. The grant is not available for enrolled married couples or in the case of a parent and child enrolled at the same time. Students who have completed a degree program or have completed twelve terms of attendance are not eligible for this grant.
Illinois Monetary Award Program
MAP Grants provide need-based assistance to Illinois residents who wish to attend an Illinois degree-granting college or university. Eligibility is based on financial need and determined by the FAFSA. Funding for the MAP Grant is limited, therefore submission of the FAFSA soon after January 1 preceding the academic year for which students are enrolling is highly recommended. Estimated maximum award for 2014-15 is $4,720.
Federal Pell Grant
Grant designed as a complement to the Federal Pell Grant. Amounts vary depending on availability of federal funding and financial need.
