What did you do before Augustana (either before attending Augustana as a student or before working at Augustana): Before Augustana, I worked as a program analyst for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Rock Island Arsenal.

Which departments do you act as a liaison for? I am the liaison for the music and athletic departments

Do you do other activities around campus (coaching, student group advisor, etc.)? I serve as an assistant coach for our men's and women's track and field programs.

What do you most love to tell prospective students about Augustana? Augustana is unique in the sense that you have a private liberal arts college focused solely on the undergraduate experience located in the middle of a metropolitan area of 400,000 diverse people.

What is your favorite time/tradition of the Augustana school year? My favorite time of the year at Augustana is October and November when the leaves are changing and the temperatures require a sweatshirt. The campus is just so beautiful and the fall weather seems so much more collegiate!

What do you like to do around the community? There is so much to do in the Quad Cities. I love eating at many of the local microbreweries, Mexican and Asian restaurants, going to concerts and festivals and riding my bike on the many miles of bike paths along the Mississippi River.

What advice do you have for students who are searching for the right college for them? I encourage students to find the best "fit" through online research, college fairs, college rep visits to high schools and campus visits. More than ever, the cost of college is being scrutinized so it's important for students and their families to look at the value of their investment. Your experience and preparation are most important, so make sure the find the college that is going to best prepare you for not only your first job, but your last!
