Adam comes to the Theatre Arts Department at Augustana College with over 15 years of professional theatre experience. He has designed scenery, lighting, costume and sound for theatrical productions in various cities in Canada including Calgary, Vancouver and Thunder Bay, ON. And recently designed scenery for a professional company in Chicago.
Some of Adam’s more recent works have been March Tale, Twelfth Night, Proof, Having Hope at Home, Pride and Prejudice, The Merchant of Venice, Cootie Shots, Blithe Spirit, Berlin to Broadway, Macbeth and Cabaret. He has also been an art director for various film & television productions in Vancouver, BC.
Highly involved with new technology for the theatre and the theatre designer, Adam’s research lies in using the computer as a tool for the designer. He is recognized and teaches workshops on VectorWorks Spotlight, a CAD program for both the set and lighting designer. He also is interested in the development of video projection as a design tool for the theatre production.
Adam is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada, CITT & USITT. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, and his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary. Adam taught for two years at the University of Minnesota, Morris and recently, two years at Illinois College as an assistant professor of theatre.
Adam happily joins the Rock Island community with the loving support of his family: wife, Tamara and three growing children – Mackenzie (aged 7), Keaton (4) and Harrison (1).
