Registration for next term
For all important enrollment dates and deadlines, check the Academic Calendar.
Students will be e-mailed their registration details at the start of week 7 or sooner.
Students should check to be sure that all registration restrictions are lifted prior to registration.
Students may check their personal registration information through a link found on Arches.

Registration Hints for Augustana Students
Augustana has a robust advising program that includes personalized attention for all students as well a wide variety of tools that can help you plan and find courses during the registration process. Here is a suggested list of things students should do prior to their registration time.
1. Week 7 make an appointment to take place during weeks 6-8 (sometime before you register) to see your academic advisor and record this on your Google calendar.
2. Prior to your advising meeting, log in to Arches
a. Check your registration date/time and current restrictions on My Registration Information
b. Record your registration date/time in your Google calendar
c. Make note of any restrictions you have
d. Visit the appropriate offices to clear all restrictions
e. Run an audit of your record using Evaluate Program and print a hard copy
f. Using Search for Sections look for potential courses for next term
3. Week 6-8 meet with your advisor at your appointment time and bring with you:
a. A hard copy of your program evaluation
b. A list of courses that are offered for your major that you might be interested in taking
c. A list of courses that are offered to fulfill general education requirements that you are interested in taking
d. A list of possible LSFY courses you might take (if applicable)
4. At your advising appointment
a. Notify your advisor of any academic, social or emotional struggles you are having - they can help connect you with available resources on campus.
b. Inquire about the required courses needed for next term (i.e. LSFY, major, etc.)
c. Look for potential general education courses of interest that you need according to your program evaluation.
d. Double-check with your advisor to see that your plan will not place you in overload for the year
e. Be sure you and your advisor have talked about 5-6 different options for coursework that could be taken then next term
f. Use the Planning Grid to plan out your week, include alternates
g. Organize all your registration and advising materials in one folder
5. In the hours leading up to your registration time log in to Arches
a. Have your advising folder ready
b. Double-check My Registration Information to be sure all restrictions were lifted
c. Using Search/Register/Drop check the available seats in the courses you would like to take
d. Place all possible course choices into your Preferred Sections list
e. If courses are closed, begin to formulate a plan for alternates
6. At your registration time, login to Arches
a. Go to Search/Register/Drop and choose Register for Previously Selected Sections
b. Register for the courses that remain open. [NOTE: the available seats number doesn't change on your preferred list once a section has been added to your list. For real-time seats, please check Search for Sections.]
c. If needed, using the Open Sections report, download the report to Excel and sort by LP, time, etc. to find additional courses that have available seats.
d. When you have finished registering, go to the Main Student Menu and choose My Class Schedule to be sure you have registered appropriately.
