The Augustana College chapter of ASTA, named Euvliga Stangar (Beautiful Strings), was established in 2002 and was an immediate success. It is a pre-professional music organization, which offers high quality teaching and performing experiences to its members. It is open to both music and non-music majors. The group meets regularly to discuss, perform and work with guest speakers. ASTA sponsored events in the past have included Cello Day, chamber music reading sessions and a private teacher panel.
