Naeseth Writing Award
In conjunction with the Departmental Open House and Scholarship Competition in January, the English Department offers awards in honor of the late Henriette C.K. Naeseth, a former teacher, scholar, and department chair. Several awards in amount of $1,000 each are given every year to entering students, typically first-year students, who show exceptional promise as writers. Naeseth Awards are renewable annually for students who furnish evidence of impressive progress as writers at Augustana.
