Secondary and Post-Secondary Education
Our graduates serve on the faculty at the Universities of Georgia, Minnesota and Denver, as well as Black Hawk and Hillsborough Colleges. They help administer programs at Syracuse University, Augustana College, Concordia University, North Central College, Cardinal Stritch University, Iowa Wesleyan College, and Roosevelt University.
They're in graduate or professional schools at the Universities of Iowa, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, at Southern Methodist University, Northern Illinois, Illinois State University and the Thomas Cosley and DePaul Colleges of Law.
They teach speech, journalism, English and theatre for Lugoff-Elgin Middle School; Moline High School; North Scott HS; Atwood Hammond Schools; Ottawa HS; Warrenville South HS; Horizon Charter School; Alleman HS; Avon (IL) School District, Muscatine HS, Kildeer (IL) District 96. Extraordinary choices including being an assistant language teacher for the Japanese Board of Education, Director of Alumni Relations for the Sterling Schools Foundation, and a language teacher for the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program.
Public Relations and Advertising
Choices here range from being made Partner at Ogilvy & Mather Advertising (one of the top ten advertising agencies in the world), Communications Director for Caterpillar and Chief of Media Relations for the US Air Force to more entrepreneurial choices such as working as a free-lance graphic design or an independent public relations consultant. Other alums are working with Radio One Communication, Greatways, Inc., Linguisystems, Motorola, Harris Bankcorp, and Smith, Bucklin & Associates.
Media and Broadcasting
Our recent grads serve as on-air personalities, producers and program directors at WQOW-TV 18; KZZG-FM; WOC Radio; WXLP 97X, Q106-FM, CLTV News, WHBF-TV and WQAD-TV. Students more interested in print media turned to Moline Dispatch Publishing; Woodford (IL) County Reporter; Soap Opera Weekly; The Chicago Tribune, and The Instrumentalist Company. And one of our graduates has become Personal Assistant to Jerry Springer, of The Jerry Springer Show fame.
Government, Ministry and Service Organizations
A fair number of students choose to work outside of the private sector, in careers from law enforcement to the ministry such as social worker, Arden Shore Assoc.; Pastor, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; Youth Counselor, Maryville Academy City of Youth; Pastor, Emmanuel Lutheran Church; Executive Director, Providers of Southeastern Minnesota; San Diego Historical Society; Registrar, Northern Illinois Medical Center; Police Officer, Kendall (IL) County.
