Services offered include assessment and intervention for speech, language, fluency, tongue thrust, voice disorders, and dialect variations. In addition, intervention for language-based reading disabilities is provided. Both individual and group sessions are available.
Assessment services are provided by academic and clinical faculty members, all of whom possess master's or doctoral degrees in speech-language pathology, hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and maintain a State of Illinois license in speech-language pathology.
The majority of intervention is provided by juniors and seniors majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders under the supervision of faculty. Intervention also can be provided by faculty members.
Assessment and intervention services are obtained through self-referral or referral from a physician or another professional.
Cost and hours
For an individual session the cost is $295 per term for supervised student clinicians and $570 per term for clinical faculty members. For a group session the cost is $160 per term for supervised student clinicians. Three terms are offered during the school year. A term includes eight hours of intervention plus a final conference.
