Why are you participating in the "Augustana in Australia" program?

I am participating in the Augustana in Australia program because it provides me with the unique opportunity to travel and learn about the Australian culture while developing skills in my desired career path of sports management. Being able to travel abroad may be a once and a lifetime opportunity and there is no other place better to do so then Australia. This program will provide me with the chance to learn what it takes to be successful in sports management. I will be able to study under an already established and successful business man/women who will provide me with tools that will help me develop skills that i will be able to apply to the business world.

What value do you hope to add back to the internship site?

I hope to provide future Australian interns with a better understanding of what the Augustana in Australia has to offer to all students.

What do you hope to learn on your internship?

I hope to learn many things from this program such as skills and techniques that I can use later in life, commitment to an organization, and most importantly what it takes to be a successful leader in business. I also plan on learning more about myself. Being away from home and out of my comfort zone will challenge me to grow as an individual.

Where do you plan to travel during your term "down under?"

I plan on traveling to as many places as my expenses allow me. I would love to see the great barrier reef, the outback, the Australian Alps, and the Tasmanian rain forest. I want to get to as many Coastlines as possible. Also i have a family in Newtown right outside of Sydney and am going to try and find a weekend to visit them.

What do you anticipate to be the highlight of your experience "down under?"

The highlight of my trip will be the week that i get to travel. I love traveling and being able to visit new sites everyday. The great barrier reef is the top spot on my list that i need to get to. But i think just having the opportunity to live in a country like Australia for 7 weeks is a highlight within itself.
