Paige's pre-trip thoughts
Internship: Vision Australia as an Occupational Therapy intern.
Why are you participating in the Augustana in Australia program? I am participating in the Augustana in Australia Program because I feel this is a once in a lifetime experience. It is an experience that will put me above other applicants for graduate school.
What value do you hope to add back to the internship site? I hope to be a new face with new ideas. I hope to learn and bring back different creative ideas to the occupational therapist if the therapy is different in the United States and Australia.
What do you hope to learn on your internship? I hope to learn more about the OT professional field. I will be on a multi-discipline team helping to provide services for those with low vision or blindness.
Where do you plan to travel during your term "down under"? I plan to travel to Great Barrier Reef, Gold Coast, and New Zealand.
What do you anticipate to be the highlight of your experience "down under"? Experiencing the culture and all the country has to offer.
